Promo Pathway Header

Promo Pathway is the nation’s first accredited on-air promotions training program. Produced in partnership with Santa Monica College—and with the generous support of the PromaxBDA Diversity Council—this one-year program immerses emerging talent in our industry through an exciting hands-on curriculum. Students graduate with a comprehensive understanding of entertainment marketing and promotion and the essential skills needed to launch their careers as preditors, writers, producers and editors.

Interactive courses include a combination of writing, editing, production and design and are taught by leading industry professionals and PromaxBDA members. Students have opportunities to gain real-world experience through internships at networks, agencies and studios. Promo Pathway allows the students build their networks through one-on-one creative coaching and professional development workshops.

Anchored in diversity and inclusion, Promo Pathway connects PromaxBDA members with ambitious talent, ready to join the workforce. Promo Pathway changes the narrative from “I fell into this career” to "I chose this career."

2016-2017 Class Application is now open. Classes will begin fall semester.

MEMBERS: Two Great Ways to Get Involved

Finalist Day - August 12, 2016

We have begun the selection process for our 5th Promo Pathway class. We would love to have your help in finalizing the next Promo Pathway cohort. In order to select the most qualified candidates, we are inviting the top applicants to present at Finalist Day, where they will meet with PromaxBDA members and other industry professionals. Members are encouraged to participate as judges and help choose the next generation of marketing and promotion talent.

The day will involve two challenges performed by the applicants, which judges will be asked to score. At the end of the day, our judges will meet and reveal their top student picks. Judges are comprised of industry professionals, university professors and program alumni.

We appreciate or members donating their time and talents to helping to select the most qualified candidates for Promo Pathway.

Academic Partnerships

Throughout the year, PromaxBDA partners with colleges and universities around America to help shape the future of our entertainment marketing and design community and inspires a new generation of creatives and marketers to enter the industry.

PromaxBDA members have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience as a guest lecturer at one of the universities or colleges that PromaxBDA partners with to create supplemental learning experiences, expose and engage students with the industry PromaxBDA serves.

Students interested in pursuing a career in entertainment marketing, promotion, and design may also join PromaxBDA at a special academic rate, providing industry access, professional growth opportunities and resources to develop aspiring talent.
