Federico Gaggio

Brand architect; Creative Leader; Leadership Consultant, Do&Co
2016 Europe Awards Jury Chair

Federico leads multi-disciplinary teams in media organisations to help articulate brand purpose, devise strategies and actions to bring the brand story to life through all touch-points, and creating rewarding experiences that build strong connections with viewers.

Federico is an internationally recognised voice on brand building, marketing, advertising, digital engagement, user experience and design. Over the past 9 years he helped positioning Discovery Communications’ properties in the hearts and minds of viewers, engaging with them through content, storytelling and experiences. As VP Brand and Executive Creative Director he led marketing, digital and creative teams across Discovery’s European markets (24 brands in 22 territories). He is the architect and inspiration behind the multi-award winning Discovery Creative London – one of the most recognised and awarded in-house agencies in the industry.

Most recently he advised the Eurosport leadership team on reigniting the brand and realigning the organisation around its new ambitions. His role was to drive and coordinate brand strategy and creative executions, fostering collaborations between internal teams and external agencies.

Federico gained extensive experience building global brands by working for leading media organisations and creative agencies in the UK, US, Germany, France and Italy. His multiple industry recognitions include Cannes Lions, D&AD, Broadcast Awards, and over 100 Promax awards.

David Angehrn

Director of Strategy and Planning, SRF

As the Head of Strategy and Planning at the Swiss public broadcaster, SRF, David Angehrn is responsible for the branding, packaging and promotion of all of the TV, radio and digital offerings.  At SRF David leads a team of Art Directors, Marketing Managers and oversees the Media Planning and Audio Layout team. Before he joined SRF he was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning at G4 TV in Los Angeles. He launched his media career at Corus Entertainment in Toronto (Canada) where he acted as Director of On Air Promotion.

Nikki Bentley

Founder & Executive Producer, Perfect Tribe

Nikki is an Executive Producer who has dedicated her working life to creating world class content, branding and marketing for brands around the world.

Her career has taken her from live broadcast production and award-winning documentary programming, to rebranding media channels and producing cross platform campaigns around the globe.

Nikki founded Perfect Tribe to provide the perfect team for every project by tapping into a vast network of brilliant creative specialists. Her founding belief is that when each member of a tribe delivers only what they’re individually brilliant at, we create beauty and joy.

It is Nikki’s driving ambition to see great creative minds inform decisions across every aspect of business as she believes this will build a more emotively connected world.

Benjamin Broclawski

Director Marketing, France, Warner Bros. Int'l TV Distribution

Benjamin Broclawski is Marketing Director at Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) for France and French-speaking territories.   He oversees all marketing activity for Warner’s entire range of content (including TV series, film and animation) in relation to their distribution on linear terrestrial, pay, cable, satellite and SVOD platforms.  He is a graduate of NEOMA Business School, France.

Before joining WBITD, he held various marketing positions at Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Steve Brouwers

Creative Director, SBS Belgium

Steve Brouwers is a Creative Director at SBS BELGIUM and co owner of Art Gallery Sofie Van de Velde in Antwerp, Belgium. He has been working in television for the last 20 years. First as a promo producer and then responsible for the promo department at SBS BELGIUM, where he and his team made channel promos a reference in Belgium for inspiring promo making.

The last 5 years  Steve has been working as a Creative Director together with all major advertisers, looking for creative tailor-made solutions to advertise on VIER and VIJF, the channels of SBS BELGIUM, preferably outside of the adbreak.

If someone asks him to jump, he never asks why, he asks: How high?

In his “free” time he helps out his wife who has an art gallery in Antwerp Belgium.

Pierluigi Colantoni

Creative Director & Head of Advertising, Rai Radiotevisione Italiana SpA

Pierluigi Colantoni was appointed Deputy Communication Director and Head of Creative Services on March 2015. Previously he was head of promotion for institutional and web campaign. From 2007 to 2012 he worked as Art Director & Head of Promotion for Rai2. Before joining Rai Pierluigi Colantoni collaborated for advertising agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi and BBDO.

Heini Häyrinen

SVP, Marketing, Nelonen Media Finland

Heini Häyrinen (SVP, Marketing/ Nelonen Media) is responsible for the company’s brand portfolio that consists of several nationwide TV, radio and VOD channels and manages a Marketing and Comms team of forty people. This team includes a hugely talented in-house production posse, that has been awarded with several PromaxBDA awards during the previous years. Heini has been with Nelonen Media for six years, and still loves TV so much, that she has butterflies in her stomach the day before a new program launch – which is pretty much every week all year-round.

Isabelle Hen-Wollmarker

Head of TV and Entertainment, Swisscom TV

Isabelle Hen-Wollmarker is in charge of Swisscom’s TV & Entertainment division at since, where she oversees it’s IPTV offering in particular Swisscom TV 2.0 as well as its online news portal Bluewin.

Her career startet in Television working in Marketing for Premiere in Hamburg Germany. From 1998 to 2008 she moved to New York and lead the international brand strategy and communication for AETN's TV channels (History, Bio, Crime & Investigation Network, A&E) for 10 years. She oversaw channel launches in Latin America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia, developed new channel concepts and brand identities and lead all global consumer and trade campaigns.

In 2008, she relocated to Zürich, where she started her own marketing consultancy before joining Google as Head of Marketing for Austria and Switzerland in 2010. She oversaw marketing for all Google products in Austria and Switzerland, in particular maps, Google+, You Tube and Adwords.

Paolo Lorenzoni

Head of OTT and New Media, Sky Italy

Paolo Lorenzoni's curriculum is rich in experiences that highlight his quest for pushing the boundaries between TV, Digital and Marketing. He is currently taking care of Sky’s over the top business for the italian market as Head of Sky Online, OTT and New Media and he is member of the European Advisory Council and Jury for PromaxBDA. In 2013 he launched the new Discovery marketing and digital departement after a year at Sky Italy where he set up and led social media and social tv for all Sky Channels and flagship Programs. He was also member of the NewsCorp Digital Leaders Collective, the first international team of the corporation focused on digital and led by James Murdoch. He landed at SKY after four years (2008–2011) in Current TV, now Al Jazeera America, first as marketing director in Milan where he managed for the network the communication activity of President Al Gore, and later as commercial & marketing director in London. During his university career in 2001, he founded one of the earliest Italian start-ups of entertainment services for the mobile Internet and, later, he was Partner of Lab Next Agency, dubbed as ”The Italian Think Tank” by Wired magazine

Arjen Noordeman

Creative Director, Comedy Central / Viacom International Media Networks North

Educated in Graphic, Audio-visual and New Media design at ArtEz Academy of Arts Arnhem (BFA) and Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Detroit (MFA) respectively, Arjen is an award-winning creative leader. With over 15 years of international expertise in concept development, cross-media design, and supervising integrated brand marketing and advertising campaigns for clients in broadcast, advertising and the arts under his belt he currently holds the position of Creative Director Brand Design for Youth & Entertainment brands at Viacom International Media Networks. He lives with his wife Christie, daughter Neon and dog Iggy in the rapidly developing North of Amsterdam, right down the street from the Viacom offices.

Sergio Ortega

Head of On Air, Fine Living Italy

Bachelor in Law from Basque Country University, and Filmmaking Diplomas from New York Film Academy, Sergio Ortega Saez is a TV Creative with more than 15 years experience in International TV Promotions, Marketing and Branding.

He’s overseen and launched TV channels in more than 30 International markets.

Based in Milan, he is currently responsible for the On Air Strategy and Creativity of Scripps Networks International’s first Italian free to air lifestyle channel, Fine Living Italy.

He was part of the creative team who launched The History Channel in Spain & Portugal in the late 90's.

In 2002 he moved to Italy to work as Senior Producer for Orbit Communications Company (now OSN) where he oversaw the On Air creativity and launch of various  of the satellite platform's entertainment channels in the Middle East.

He’s also worked as Creative Director in the UK for Discovery EMEA and Viasat Broadcasting (now MTG) before returning to his "adopted country",Italy.

Member of "The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences of Spain" he has been collaborating regularly for the past decade as Judge in several Promax BDA Competitions (Europe,Asia,Africa,India,Arabia,World ,…)

His worked has been recognized with the Promax Muse.

As of last November he is also a member of the PromaxBda Europe Advisory Council.

Frank Radice

Expert in Residence, Definition 6

Frank Radice is a veteran media industry executive, director, producer, writer, and musician.

He is the owner of Vida FR Company in the US and BadCatCo in the UK. and is currently the Expert in Residence at the global ad agency, Definition 6, the Global Expert in Residence for Man Made Music, a consultant for El Rey Network, and the Chairman of the PromaxUK 2016 Conference and Awards.

Radice is the former President and CMO of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (where he brought recognition to the creative field of on-air promotion with its first national Emmy award category). He is a former Executive Vice President of the NBC Agency, a member of the NBC Universal Marketing Council, Executive Producer at CNN, Director at Entertainment Tonight, and a consultant to Univision Communications, The Univision Agency, and Univision Deportes.

As a journalist, Radice received two DuPont Columbia University Journalism Awards and two national Emmy Awards for his work on ABC News, "Nightline." As a marketing executive he received the TV Week Magazine/PromaxBDA “Campaign of Distinction Award," was inducted into the “PromaxBDA Hall of Fame," and named a “Brand Builder of the Year” by Multichannel News and Broadcasting and Cable Magazine. As a songwriter he has received 2 national Emmy nominations, 2 Cine Golden Eagle Awards, and the Mobius Award.

His career includes executive positions at NBC, ABC, CBS, and CNN. He has extensive experience in the field of digital marketing and is a published author by Random House Childrens Books.

Radice can be seen regularly as a contributor to TechCrunch TV's "Gillmor Gang."

Brett Richards

Creative Director & Founder, Brokendoll

Brett Richards is Creative Director and founder of Brokendoll, a boutique design and production house based in Stockholm and LA.

Brett was born in 1976 in Australia and much later graduated from Flinders University with a combined degree in Film and Philosophy.  He worked as senior designer at the Academy Award winning VFX house Rising Sun Pictures before moving to Sweden at the end of 1999. From 2000 to 2001 Brett was creative director at Commando SMA, Scandinavia's  first “screen media” agency designing for all major screen platform from web to mobile to TV. Besides leading the creative team, Brett's focus was directing the strategic rebranding of TV channels including the long running and award winning package for Kanal 5 sweden.

In 2001 Brett joined Visual Art as Creative Director and launched their internationally successful design and film production department. During his  years at VA Brett continued to rebrand major european broadcasters and designed and directed numerous commercials and title sequences.

After traveling home to Australia for some serious diving and a little freelancing in 2004 Brett returned to Sweden in 2006 and founded Brokendoll.

Today Brett both leads the creative team at Brokendoll and works as a live action director. As a director his style is extremely visual with an sense of design infused storytelling. With such a strong back ground in VFX and motion graphics Brett is always interested in pushing the boundaries of technology in the service of the story and he freely combines, 2d, 3d, matte paintings and in camera effects in his work.

Brett’s directorial work has been featured in Shots Magazine, and he has received numerous awards and nominations including from Promax, ADC, FWA, and the Nordic TV Awards.

As a Creative Director Brett has at one time or another creatively led the strategic rebranding of channels for alll the major Broadcasters in Sweden including, SVT 2, TV3, TV 4 Fakta, Kanal 5 and TV 12.

Pauline Russell

VP Creative Services, Scripps Networks International

Pauline has been at Scripps Networks International since July 2014 where she is VP Creative Services.  She is responsible for devising Creative and Brand Strategy for 3 brands across UK and EMEA and has established an award winning in-house creative team.  She co-chaired the conference and awards for Promax UK 2015.  Pauline has over 15years experience working for international broadcasters in continuity, promos, branding and management.  She spent 4 years at BBC Worldwide working on the EMEA channels and in 2014 she produced the Showcase event in Liverpool, overseeing all the short-form media where she learnt that if you can survive Showcase, you really can do anything!  Her promo-making teeth were well and truly cut at Discovery Networks International where she was for almost 10years and became an expert on serial killers, tattoos and fishing.

Germán Sela Orbe

Brand Director, Canal + Spain

Since 1997 always involved in branding and promo.

His early days were in the cinema business where he was involved in the production, marketing and distribution strategy of more than 50 feature films as Head of Marketing. In those days he also worked as Music Supervisor for several of them

After that he moved, to pay TV at CANAL+ Spain where he was Creative Services Director (2004-2011) and Brand Director (2011-2015) running a DTH and OTT platform and a portfolio of more than 20 channels.

His promos and branding works have received many distinctions and awards at PROMAX, NY Festival, D&AD, ADCE Awards, LAUS...

Since 2015 he’s running and developing Movistar+, the new brand that results of the merge of CANAL+ Spain and Movistar (Telefónica Group). As you may know, CONVERGENCE is the Sign of the Times….

Germán holds a degree in Economics from CUNEF (Complutense University, Madrid) and a postgraduate degree in Audio-visuals Communication and Production (MEGA).

Matt Stott

Director: Creative, Marketing and Communications, AMC Networks International

For the past 8 years I have been in the ever changing world of Chello Media and then ultimately AMC Networks. It was an extremely exciting time when AMC Networks acquired the company in 2014. It’s been an incredible ride already and often feels like a hobby, working with the likes of “Breaking Bad”, “Mad Men”, “Into the Badlands”, “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Night Manager”. From the very top all the way down there’s a belief that content is king and it filters through everything we do. After reaching the position of Creative Director, I was recently tasked with also being across Marketing and Communications. This is a fantastic new challenge, where we hope to unify all creative messaging to make the biggest impact.

Nancy Theunissen

On Air and Productions Manager, The Walt Disney Company Benelux

Nancy Theunissen, an award winning creative,  has years of international experience working for the world’s leading broadcasters.

She started her TV career in London as Promo Producer for National Geographic Channel followed by Dutch Film Channel CineNova.  Then freelancing for renowned global brands including: The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal, BDA London, Film 1 and Sport 1.

Having spent over a decade working in one of the world’s most dynamic marketplaces she moved back to her native Holland where she joined Disney Channels Benelux.  As Senior Manager On air & Production,  she turned the On Air department into an award winning team, led various international campaigns and produced new series for Disney Channel Benelux.

She stills feels like a kid in a candy store and gets her kick out of working with passionate people.

Bettina Vogel

Creative Director Nickelodeon North Europe, VIMN Germany GmbH / Nickelodeon

Following studies of history and art and first stations in Munich Tina moved to London to work as a creative for MTV. Different brands and a relocation to Berlin later she currently holds the position of VP Creative, Content and Development at Viacom International Media Networks heading the creative and content teams for Kids & Family and Youth & Entertainment in Berlin and Amsterdam who are developing and producing cross-media designs, brand and marketing campaigns and fiction as well as non fiction content for the Viacom channels in Scandinavia, Benelux, Poland and Germany.
