Entertainment marketers report lack of professional development and training amidst budget cuts and rapid industry change

PromaxBDA Europe, the essential entertainment marketing event, introduces The Academy to close the ‘training gap’

LONDON – March 13, 2016 —Only 18 percent of entertainment marketing professionals report that they have access to training and development programs despite the rapid evolution of television viewer habits and growth of social media platforms, according to a new industry survey released today by PromaxBDA, the global media marketing association.

In addition, 45 percent reported that what’s on offer isn’t tailored to them, and 35 percent said that tight budgets rendered training and professional development programs a luxury at their companies.

The results come from a survey of marketing executives and professionals attending the upcoming PromaxBDA Europe Conference 2016, 14-15 March in Barcelona.

To address the professional development needs of the industry, PromaxBDA in Barcelona is launching The Academy, a track dedicated to professional development designed specifically for entertainment marketers and creatives.

The PromaxBDA Academy is designed to give marketing and creative executives a full day of leadership and master classes in writing, design and creativity. Paul Boross, the "Pitch Doctor," will kick off The Academy.
