Actor and Comedian Jeff Leach to host PromaxBDA Europe Awards 2016 in Barcelona on 15 March 2016
LONDON – February 11, 2016 —BBC, Red Bee Media, France 3, RAI, and ProSiebenSat.1 are among the top companies shortlisted for the PromaxBDA Europe Awards 2016, the entertainment marketing and design industry’s premier award for the European region.
PromaxBDA, the global association representing media marketers announced its full list of finalists on Thursday.
The awards celebrate outstanding achievement in entertainment marketing and design in Europe, with more than 35 categories honouring the multiplatform campaigns, social media strategies, and digital innovations that create powerhouse media brands and build passionate fandom.
This year’s list of finalists was determined from more than 1600 submissions from top broadcasters and agencies in 40 European countries.
"The PromaxBDA Europe 2016 Awards have seen a fantastic array of submissions this year, earning high praise from our judges,” said PromaxBDA President & CEO Steve Kazanjian.
"This year’s focus on creative storytelling was evident across all of the submissions, and that in itself is an outstanding achievement in such rapidly changing times,” Kazanjian added. "We’re looking forward to the revealing winners at the awards in March and sharing their remarkable work.”
The PromaxBDA Europe awards finalist feature a strong mix of European networks and agencies. Among the companies making the shortlist:
- General Brand Campaign (Channel, Network or Platform): Universal Networks International, Les Folies Designhaus, Discovery Networks Norway, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Discovery Networks CEEMEA, and France 3.
- General Brand Design Package (Channel, Network or Platform): Sony Pictures Television Networks, Holman + Hunt / Canal+, Movement Paris, France 4, TVNova (CET 21 s, Prosiebensat.1 TV Deutschland Gmbh, and Turner Spain/TNT.
- Funniest Promo: Discovery Networks Denmark, Creative Services Entertainment South (Viacom International Media Networks South Europe Middle East & Africa), Red Bee/UKTV, Universal Networks and Comedy Central UK.
- The finalists for this year’s prestigious Rocket Award, which is given to rising stars in the industry with less than two years of work experience are: Alexander Testov of JSC CTC Network; Ben & Anvil Studio Launch for Ben & Anvil; Craig Jonathan Kristensen of Discovery Networks Denmark; Richard Mccormack from Red Bee Media; Susanne Nijkamp of Cape Rock; and Juan Alvarez Linera of Sony Pictures Television Networks Iberia – AXN.

Finalists were determined in a first round of judging by creative and strategic leaders from across Europe who met in London, Paris, Warsaw, and Rome. An esteemed jury chaired by Federico Gaggio, Do&Co, met in Amsterdam to deliberate the finalists and select the winners. Those winners will be revealed live in a gala ceremony on the closing night of the PromaxBDA Europe 2016 conference, March 15, 2016 at the Hotel Arts Barcelona.
Actor and comedian Jeff Leach is returning for the third year in a row to host the ceremony.
