Empire creators Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy have come together for new Fox series Star, featuring Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Queen Latifah.

With a soundtrack of original music and music performances, the show follows three talented young singers, desperate for a new start, who navigate the cut-throat music business with ambitions of stardom.

The series also stars Benjamin Bratt (24, Live Another Day, Law & Order), along with newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady and Amiyah Scott.

Guest stars include Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell and Tyrese Gibson.

Star is a production of 20th Century Fox Television in association with Lee Daniels Entertainment. Daniels and Donaghy serve as creators and executive producers. Pamela Oas Williams and Effie Brown also executive produce, with Chuck Pratt as showrunner.

Fox will launch a special preview of Star in December.
