It’s a phrase, a sound, a voice that sums up HBO’s new brand campaign “It’s What Connects Us.”
with an assist from San Francisco-based ad agency Mekanism, HBO launched three videos featuring familiar characters lending their collective voices to the network’s “ahhh” chord that comes just after the HBO logo in the iconic intro preceding all original programing.
The videos include characters from Game of Thrones, Veep, Westworld, Girls, Silicon Valley and more to demonstrate how their many distinct and diverse voices collectively help create the fun, exciting and unexpected experience viewers anticipate when they turn on HBO.
HBO plans to release more videos in the coming weeks, which will air on the linear channel and across social media.
The campaign aims to drive home the notion that HBO isn’t about just one show, but a range of series, characters, and stories that bring the network to life.
