After leaving to travel abroad in Italy at the end of the season one, Dev is back in New York when Netflix’s Master of None returns for season two.
Starring and created by Aziz Ansari, he is ready to “take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him,” says a press release from Netflix.
Spoiler alert! This likely does not refer to ex-girlfriend Rachel (Noel Wells) who is absent from the cast after the two split in the season-one finale. And season two sees Dev diving back into the dating scene.
Returning to the series are friends Arnold (Eric Wareheim) and Denise (Lena Waithe).
Guest stars include Bobby Cannavale and John Legend, and the return of Ansari’s real-life parents playing Dev’s parents on the show.
Netflix also released key art to kick off the new season:
The comedy explores a diverse range of social issues in today’s society such as dating in a digital world, religion, coming out as gay to your family and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.
A Universal Television production for Netflix, creator Ansari and Alan Yang serve as executive producers along with Michael Schur, Dave Becky, David Miner and Igor Srubshchik.
Season two of Master of None premieres Friday, May 12.
