executive mentorship program

The PromaxBDA Executive Mentorship Program is a national program matching industry leaders with high-potential managers and directors in an effort to develop the next generation of leaders and creative talent.

"Our industry is only as strong as the next generation of creatives and marketers who will take the reins in the future. I enjoy giving back to my field, and I always enter any program wanting to learn as much from my mentee as they learn from me throughout the process." — Scot Chastain, SVP, Affiliate Marketing & Development, NBC Television Network

"Honesty, integrity and courage are the values mentorship provided me as a mentor and a mentee. To reap the highest benefits of mentorship, you have to be completely honest about your situation – the good, the bad and ugly – have the integrity to consistently show up, share and hold up your end of the deal and the courage to follow through on the advice you are given." — Vicky Free, CMO, BET

"As you move up it’s more about you managing your own career. I feel lucky to have an outside perspective, learn from my mentor and grow in my career. " — Charissa Chu, Director, Distribution Marketing, FOX Networks

goal

By developing leadership skills of highly motivated talent, we integrate a broader spectrum of experience, insight, strategic intuition and creative perspective into our industry. Mentors will work closely with mentees to develop the strategies necessary to rise up the executive ladder. Mentees will ultimately walk away with a road map for success and a deeper understanding of the informal insights, wisdom and tools that successful leaders use to navigate and leverage opportunities in the media and entertainment industry.

structure

The executive mentorship program is a one-year, structured, skill-based mentorship program. At the start of each program, mentors and mentees are required to attend a four-hour training session. In this collaborative workshop environment, they will receive training in communications, leadership, coaching and optimizing the mentorship partnership.

Mentors and mentees are required to meet once per month for two hours. Between monthly sessions, mentors and mentees correspond via email and phone calls to maintain and strengthen communication channels. The program requires a minimum of two contact hours monthly.

objectives

Match each mentee with mentors who represent top marketing and creative executives
- Develop strategies for creating a strong and sustainable work-life fit
- Build meaningful professional relationships between industry leaders and rising professionals
- Support the mentoring relationships with training, professional development and resources

application process

The Executive Mentorship Program is a PromaxBDA member benefit with limited spots available.
